Have replaced the starter solenoid, starter and ignition switch. When ignition switch is put into the start position I get a loud click that sounds like it is coming from the engine area but the starter will not engage. My fuse block also has an issue. There are 3 fuses in the block, the center one is a 20 amp and has melted into the plastic. When I looked at the backside of the fuse block there is a wire running to the top prong and at the bottom prong position there is nothing, no wire or anything. There is not a loose wire which has heated and dropped off, nothing. It looks as if the bottom part where the other leg of the fuse should go has never had a crimp or anything attached, what should go there. I am imagining this may be were my no start is. I believe this is a mower made in 2007.

Remove the spark plug & try again.
Remove the belts from the pulleys and try turning the engine over by hand
JD do not sell the fuse block, just the entire harness
However it is a 2 x 4 headlamp fuse box used on a lot of US cars till the 80's and readily available from old car parts shops and usually on ebay
JD fuse holder
Aptiv 12004943
4 single terminals output side
2 double terminals input side
Mouser No 829-12004943 .They come with 8 single crimp connectors + 1 x 4 way connector so you cut the 4 way into 2 x 2 ways for your mower

The 20A main fuse usually over heats & melts the fuse holder because of a bad ground contact between the battery and the engine .
It loosens off at the engine bolt
I replace it with a woven flat ground strap ( again from an auto store )

And yes the 20A fuse has a wire on both ends .
I thought I had a wiring diagram for it but I don't .

I have differ on the 12004943 coming with terminals from Mouser as the ones I ordered didn't come with any terminals.

Now the Dorman 85668 does comes with terminals.

Uses Buss bar 12045285 12-10 ga and 4 ea Terminal 12020321 16-14 ga.

Now the above schematic the 12045285 would need to be cut in half as to have two different supply points.
