hello everyone,
first time user here and seems like there is a lot of knowledge and ideas. so looking for some help. have a jd x520 and am having pto issues. was doing a test run a few days ago and the blades just stopped while moving forward. belts look good. disconnected the wires to the pto and sent power to it and it "clapped" but not getting power to the pto thru the wiring harness. changed ignition switch, pto switch and relay. still no power to pto. bypassed the seat switch, nothing. I read people talking about the brake switch but don't have the same symptoms meaning my engine shuts off when getting off the seat and does not start unless the brake pedal is depressed. i'm thinking the reverse switch or maybe the control module? oh yeah, checked all the fuses with a meter, not just visually. does anybody have any ideas besides the dealer? I will admit i'm getting close to making that call though. thanks!!

With any JD product you will be well served to fork out for the extensive & detailed JD Technical manual.
Not cheap but costs a lot less than a trip to a dealer for a repair.
If there is no power to the PTO through the loom, I would be looking at the fuseable link or alternator.
Most times the power wire is always in circuit and the ground wire is used for switching the clutch on & off.

Another culpprit will be the reverse switch, usually mounted on the gear box
