John Deere X300R Primary Deck Belt

Anyone know the correct length for the engine to cutting deck drive belt and how much does it normally stretch?
The old belt was type 'B' (ie 5/8" top width) and about 116" long. Bought a new one, 116" long and it has now stretched to 117" which is so long the spring loaded tensioner pulley doesn't apply any tension.
I've found the right width belt on Amazon. Their ad says it's 114" long and will fit my machine.
I'd appreciate some guidance, thanks.

The price of aftermarket belts is the attraction, but they often end up being a disappointment.

Buy the correct JD belt and save yourself some aggravation. JD is one of the worst about requiring odd, dimensioned belts.

They seldom use generic after-market belt lengths.

Just because a description in an ad says it will fit, does not mean that it will function like OEM.

Amazon is the last place I would consider buying belts for any equipment, they are a dumping ground for inferior products.

I have found genuine JD OEM belts on eBay many times.

Yes, I bought a "Primary Deck Drive Belt" on eBay. I received a 1/2" belt and the supplier "can't find my order". They took the money, though.
So, my queries remain, ie how much stretch can one expect and how long should that 5/8" belt be?

That's why you must save the order acknowledgements. I even had one vendor try to hid by changing their user name. But eBay found them anyway per the order number.

BTW it depends what your serial number as to which belt is there. Early model used a 14.2 mm (9/16) belt which JD subs with a 1/2" x 114". Later serial they used a HB (5/8) x 114" [B111K). Either way the belt needs to be Kevlar corded belt not a polyester corded one. Kevlar spec is no more 1% stretch allowed. Polyester cord will melt and stretch a lot and sometimes even blow out.

The effective length between 1/2 and 5/8 different as to where it rides in the v pulleys. To the mower the 1/2 belt will appear to be longer.

Parts must be order by the serial number.

I note the info that no more than 1% stretch is allowed for Kevlar corded belts. That's 1 1/8" for a 114" belt.
I had the order confirmation saved (email). The supplier wanted a screenshot, which I attached to an email. Supplier stated "no attachment visible" 3 times

Part of my reply "fell off" somewhere.
I converted the screenshot to .jpg the 3rd time I emailed. Still "not visible" the lousy supplier advised..I'm now waiting for eBay to come good.

But hopefully eBay can resolve it. Although it is fight to get to a real person with all this AI BS.
