John deere gx335 circuit board smoking when running

So I recently picked up this john deere gx335 for free from a friend and he said the only problem is when it runs theirs a resistor on the circuit board that starts smoking I was wondering if this has happend to anyone else or if theirs a way to bypass the board entirely TIA

Be careful... This is a major way that a fire starts in the John Deere. My X500 JD burnt this way. A fire extinguisher did finally put it out. My neighbor was not so lucky. His tractor burnt to the ground.
