My John Deere A105 riding lawn mower hums and then it will finally start just one time. Turn it off and it hums and will not start. I have changed the spark plug, gas filter, air filter, ignition switch, and solenoid switch, What is the problem?

I just put a brand new battery in the mower. It is fully charged.

Assuming the OP has a LA105 Rider with a Briggs 31 series 19.5 hp OHV Intek engine.

Without being there it sounds the premament starter magnets have came unglued and are jamming the armature. There also the possibility that engine at/very near TDC compression stroke and the ACR is not working due either valves are way out adjustment or the camshaft ACR itself is broken off.

Once the engine starts, I can run it for 2 or three hours and it runs just prefect. It is if I start it and turn it off in 3 or 4 minutes, it hums and does not want to restart. Sometime I get lucky and it hums and restarts.

Is the humming the starter? Do you think I should replace the starter?
