Got this old tractor for 20 bucks. It needs a new ignition switch, etc
No mower deck, but I can always use an extra tractor for fire wood.
Anyway,my question is.The tag is gone off the frame. Is there anyway
of telling what year or model, etc it is so I can get the switch and maybe
a shop manual? Thanks,John

here are a few pictures.I think

As you can see the tag is missing from the frame....I have no idea just what model it is
or year made,etc...I think the ignition switch will be easy to find, but anything else.
Well,I have no idea..John

You know its a John Deere model 180. What more do you need to know to get parts?

But don't I need the model number off from the frame, which is missing.??:mur:

Would like to find a wireing digram and manual for this if possible..I think it is worth
putting a few bucks into it and get it running.Any help is appreciated...

local john deere dealer would be glad to help i bet. the missing sn plate wont be a huge deal might be a serial number break but the wiring will be fairly similar between them all.

have a switch on order. If anyone else has this model tractor, can you please post some pictures of the right side showing the wireing in the starter area..All the wires are hanging down in this area...Some I think are for the electric clutch for the mower, but That is of no concern to me.Just from the switch down..Thanks..john:licking:
