I just replaced the crankcase gasket on my John Deere. Everything went back together perfectly but now it races at idle. Does anyone have any suggestions? TKS.

when u had it apart the governor rod on the inside of the block might have moved or its not sitting proper in the fly weights

Tks! This is the first time I have ever attempted this. How will I know if this is the case? Will it be obvious when I open it back up?
