I'm hoping there's a few experts out there. It's a great lawn mower that I've had for years. The drive pully finally let go so I was forced to replace the pulley and the belt. The clutch mounting bolt would not come out. Once I used a puller to remove the clutch assembly from the crank shaft I found out why. There was a little snap ring that prevents the bolt coming out of the clutch. I need a replacement bolt; can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Go to weingartz.com and type 14sb into the search bar. Pick the appropriate model and see all the parts diagrams.

Thank you Ken, what I have since found out by looking at diagrams the clutch is not John Deere. I also found a label on the underside of the clutch that shows Warner Electric.

Ken, by far the best site, thanks for sharing. As I looked further into the condition of the clutch both bearings need replacement, and it appears the clutch may be worn thin, and the plates are hitting and have been for a bit. You can see the bolt cut into 3 pieces. 10MM bolt with a shoulder and snap ring . A few pics.

Here is your problem. The part is not available. Many years ago JD used an one piece Warner BBC clutch then Warner changed to a two piece version and dropped the one piece unit. Two make things worst there two designs of the two piece unit.

Here is how to id which you have along that since 1995 the one piece has been no longer available.

The only option is to replace the clutch assy and special bolt with the correct clutch assy.

Thank you for taking the time to share the configuration changes from over the years of the clutch (and crank). I was wondering if the Warner was an OE item or aftermarket, now I know. I would think the one piece would be a much easier clutch to install as this 2 piece was a bit of a challenge. Once again great info, have a great day Sir.
