Just look it over close and look for, cobbled up wiring, run it and listen for unusual noises , check the belts, worn out mower lift linkage, cracks in the mower and tractor chassis, tires (weather cracks, worn out thread) If you can bring a small jack check the steering linkage and for loose wheels. It is all depends what you are looking for, a almost new or a fixer up? What you are paying for that tractor you sure don't want to spend a lot of money on it after you get it home. Parts are big money.

Fairly new, I Haven't seen a picture of it yet but that's how it's described. Older guy owned it.

Sounds like a good price if that is the fact. If you price what new will cost you will see that. You have to watch us old men, our eye sight and hearing isn't as good as it use to be and we just might hit a rock or two when we mow  You would see what I mean if you look at the back bumper of my car.
