. Hi there, I was give a John Deere 115 with a stripped starter whole. It looks like part of the block was chipped off. Does anyone have any recommendations. Can I drill a hole to replace the missing starter hole the left of the stripped hole?
I don't know but looks pretty nasty. My take is clean it up to get rid of contaminants, and slowly add material thru tig, giving it a chance to cool between layers.
Get a thread insert or helicoil - I think Lock tite sells the inserts , will come with drill / tap and insert to repair this , Helicoil is cheaper but still works
