Another new guy buying a new (to me but used) mower. It is the John Deere x744 diesel. It is an all wheel steer with 500 hours on it, 2007.
It is my buddies tractor and he wants a new one. He is asking $6,500 for it. I think he paid over 11K for it new. Anyway, after looking around a bit, seams like a reasonable deal. Not a steal but good. What do you think?
Took it for a spin and mowed with it a while and really like it, especially the fact that it is a Yanmar diesel that will probably last longer than I will want to keep it.
Decided not to go the ZTR route. Not real conducive to my type of property; hilly with trees on hills. A ZTR could do it but I anticipate a lot of sliding. Plus I need a little more than a mower.
Even if I wanted a ZTR, there are just no used ones around my territory and I do not feel like buying two states away and either paying for delivery or picking it up.
