Tiger just come here and prove it if you ever done this. I wish I had the funds to pay for your trip but I don't.
There is only 3/8" between the rocker cover and the square wrap around tube. Not even enough room to remove the two lower screws; unless, I grind down a 3/8 socket for the 1/4 dr ratchet. Even if you remove the screws you still can't get the cover past the rockers. In order to remove the square tube both transaxles must loosen a lot. This means trying to support the whole weight of the rear half of the mower by the engine deck only. Btw both rear wheels has to come off in order to do this just access the transaxles mounting screws.
And make it clear I did tried removing that tube without loosening the transaxles before I gave the estimate.
Plus the service manual have you removing the engine.
I will post a picture of the rocker cover area vs the square tube later if the battery holds a charge long enough on the old cell phone. Charging now from a completely dead battery.
