JD LX172 no suctio with new fuel pump

lx172 won't start. Good spark. Fresh gas. Replaced all fuel lines & installed new OEM fuel pump. Pump not sucking so bypassed fuel filter and put a new section on fuel directly into tank & attached other end to intake tube on pump. No suction at all. Ideas?

Vacuum line to the fuel pump from engine could be broke.Also make sure fuel tank is vented and you installed the filter in the right direction.

Are you sure that you have the pump connected correctly ?
Impulse line on the top ( flat bit ) input tube under impulse line
output tube all by itself on the other side .
The output has a one way check valve in it so if hooked up backwards it will not pump.

Maybe need to prime the lines/pump. What I usually do is take off the gas tank lid, pressurize the tank and lines by blowing pretty hard into the tank for 10 or 15 seconds. Will push gas thru all and into the carb.
