JD 240 Lawn Tractor Carb

I need to replace the carb on my JD 240 lawn tractor. It has a Kawasaki FC420V-DS00 14HP engine. There are many carbs on line for sale but they are not quite the same as mine. They are all shown with a pink tube coming out the side, My carb does not have this fitting or tube. Does anyone know what or where this tube goes?? Is-l1600 (1).webp

Rivets JD won't let Kawasaki USA show the IPLs. The model/spec is a valid number.

Do you need me to send my source for these IPLs to you via PM. Sure saves me and customer a lot money as I buy from my Kawasaki distributor instead of JD.
 
Thank you for reminding me that JD doesn’t want anyone to access their engines. Old age has reminded me I’ve forgotten more than I know.

That why they even hide the oem part numbers behind their own part numbers.

BTW I am 76 this week and be 86 next June. Boy does this forum makes you age fast.

Please send me any info that will help. I am getting desprate.
 
That pink tube is for show in the picture, but actually it is a vapor vent elbow that was added to many carburetors after emissions changes. My advice is put a longer hose on it and attach a small filter like a fuel filter so it can balance the atmospheric air and not get bugs looking for a place to nest.
