I have check idler pulley alignments and belt tensioner still my Jd will throw the belt when i shut the blades :mad:off almost every 4 th time ....can it be my belt is stretched ?:confused2:

Belts do not stretch much at all. Maybe 1/2 inch on a 100-inch belt. They ware on the V sides and ride deeper inside the pulley till they bottom out then have no tension to move the pulleys. Best bet is a belt guide is not in the factory position to hold belt when this happens.

From experience non JD belts will not work properly and could be the cause of the problem. Use OEM belts. Also, pulley bearing wear, even slight, seems to exacerbate JD deck problems.

Doubling up on what Rivets said.
I find the JD EDGE deck to be the most sensative to pulley alignment and to bearings.
Also double check you do not have the D shaped rear hangers on backwards.
I have done that more than once and got the same result as you.
The tensioning pulley arm wears fairly quickly and once the hole has flogged out oval, belts jump off regularly.
It needs to be lubed very regularly.
