Hello - I am new to the forum. I have a 1987 John Deere 318 that is using a bit of oil. I would like to find a capable mechanic in my area "Charleston, SC" who could rebuild my engine. The J. Deere Dealer "Sparrow & Kennedy" doesn't want to work on the 318 so I am hopeful of finding a mechanic. If you can help me with a recommendation please let me know. Thanks

Onan B43G is a nice smooth running engine, but might be hard to find parts for it anymore? Maybe its time to repower with a new engine.

Internet search has parts available. I have a nephew that rebuilt one. Cost him over a thousand bucks before he was done and he did the work himself.

Another reason to repower with a new engine.
