Attempted to replace drive belt, received a equivalent 5103907 5/8 x123 belt and it was to short couldn't get in mounted. Side by side comparison with original and they looked even in length. But the replacement would not stretch far enough. Go figure. I even used a longer eye bolt on tensioner spring and could get it mounted but that didn't leave enough clearance between the idler and tensioner pully. WTF?
 
Then I would make sure the belt is in all the v-pulleys grooves as there should be no problem installing the same size belt when it matches the old belt. Now a new 5/8 Kevlar belt can be pretty stiff and that could even be the problem.
 
Could be, I might double check width of new belt bottom and top of V , If that looks good, may have to find a belt stretcher, The idler pulley setup is kind of a poor design
