S Steve0853 Active Member Apr 18, 2012 #2 A technique I have used in similar situations is to use about a 2 or 3 foot section of 3/4" rubber hose sort of like a stethoscope. Put one end against your ear and the other near the pulley. You'll be able to tell which one is squealing.
