Intermintment misfire

I have a D-140 JD with a Vanguard 22hp V-twin. Had been running just fine but yesterday it started to misfire but keeps running. Seems like as it warms up it is more noticeable. I checked the plugs and reset them but that didn't change anything. Would new plugs be in order or do I look elsewhere?

remove the kill wire for both coils and see if the problem goes away .

Guess I should have mentioned I am 78 and not a great mechanic, do what I can to get by. I'll have to see if I can locate the wires you mentioned. This rider has 1031 hours on it and has served me well.

I didn't locate the wire but I did mow for an hour and it ran fine. I'll try looking at the wiring to see if a mouse happened to made a visit.
