Interlock switch for the brake

I noticed when I tried to start the Craftsman lt2000 riding mower when I turn the key to the right there was complete silence.

And then other times the engine would start right up but I think the problem is this brake interlock switch the plunger portion it doesn't fully retract in fact I'm sending a photo that includes a plastic shim and that shim tries to make up the distance the shim is that white piece of plastic but is there a way to adjust something like the brake or some other part, so that when I put my put on the brake that plunger mostly retracts compared to how it is now.

Okay so I just found this out that molex connector side of that switch it's like you could wiggle it around it doesn't seat into the frame perfectly and it has nothing to do with that shim I mean maybe the shim could help a little but without the sham and just wiggling that molex around and putting the brake fully depressed and then pulling up on that red parking brake tab it seems consistently start so the only thing I can say is that molex connector doesn't fit perfectly it can be wiggled I don't know how that all adds up but it's definitely not a shim that is a solution.

Actually it doesn't start the engine turns over I mean the engine flywheel rotates but it doesn't actually start I mean I don't know if that's still the same problem but the flywheel for the engine is definitely rotating that's all I'm trying to say and I completely forgot I got a spark plug tester in line and I didn't even look at it to see if if there's spark anyways maybe I should just figure more things out on my own right now
 
So I am uploading this image this is the Craftsman lt2000 brake interlock switch + mainly the reason I'm doing it is to let others know I used Microsoft co-pilot and we went through basically how to use a multimeter that I've had for like 30 years and how to test these terminals and it's not something that I would normally do so what Microsoft co-pilot came up with and I'm not promoting them I mean maybe others can do similar I'm just saying an AI agent what a concluded Is two and four have continuity + when isolating pin one and then adding pin two or pin 3 or pin 4 there is no continuity. So according to co-pilot I need to get a new switch but I think there's some other problem which makes sense but mostly this is to show anyone that's interested in if you take good photographs you're very clear to saying AI agent and you explain everything perfectly otherwise it has no clue what you're talking about it will I believe come up with the right answer and basically it's telling me we're going to jump that wiring harness for the brake interlock switch and then go on and troubleshoot other electric circuits which is probably what I will end up doing but it's mostly to show others this actually can work where you might be able to do things yourself without actually having never done it before.

That wouldn't be a Molex style connector housing but a Aptiv [Delphi]. BTW the switch is a Delta 6700-01B that is a two pole switch with one pole normally closed and the other normally opened.

That is unless Molex is now cloning the Aptiv one.

Also if that connector is a true Aptiv then it would use female F56 terminals and they do become loose when the spring hinge breaks causing lost of contact. And what is describe is a sign of a failed terminal even through itself also be bad.

So whether I actually needed a brake interlock switch I honestly don't know but I can tell you that I found the best way to install it is to use a piece of wire it is not in the most convenient place for installation.
