Have JD lawn mower with a Kawasaki 17hp. Would not turn over. Jumped solenoid terminals and it turned over. I assumed the solenoid was bad so I bought a new one. Trying to hook it up and as soon as I connect the battery cable, the solenoid spins with out the key on. Also the starter is NOT spinning with key in crank position (solenoid still spinning). What could it be please.
Install new starter solenoid and it spins when battery hooked up?
