Input shaft replacement

2012 cub cadet hydrostat with tuff torq transmission , can the input shaft be replaced? bolt holding fan broke off, unable to drill out.
 
If I recall, I think that shaft bolt is left hand reverse threads and you have to drill it and use a straight spline style extractor and actually turn it clockwise to remove it. You will have to order a correct bolt to replace it.

Sure, the shaft can be replaced if you can find the part, and want to completely take the transaxle off of the mower, completely take the case off, replace part, reseal, and reinstall. So the short answer is , lots of work.
 
Post the model of the Tuff Torq from it serial number tag or at least the mower's model from its serial number tag so someone can lookup the parts. I suspect it is a K46.

If so the bolt is RH threaded. As for shaft removal of course the transaxle needs to be out for access. The shaft is held in by a snap ring under the seal. The shaft and bearing comes as one unit. No need to open the case if I remember correctly from a couple years ago.

Just note the bolt was put in with a yellow Loctite patch so heat maybe needed for removal of the broken bolt.
 
thank you to all that gave me information. LTX1050kw model 13wi93ap010 built date 5/20/12 if shaft is held in by a snap ring under the seal can it be replaced with out the transmission being disassembled? I know the unit must be removed.

Just note there are total 4 serial number breaks for the K46AC so it is important for part numbers look ups.
