i am trying to find blades for the 42 inch deck for my '67 Jake.

OEM blade part numbers are 331581 and 331582.

they are 18 15/32, and 12 15/16 inches respectively, and i need one of the long and two of the short.

anyone have any leads?

thanks.

You need to measure from cutting tip to cutting tip, width, thickness and center hole or holes.

Husqvarna Chainsaws, Outdoor Power Equipment and Tree Care Supplies from Bailey's gator&catID=452

This is one place to look.

the lengths mentioned are cutting tip lengths.

center bore is 1/2" outside bores are also 1/2"

there isnt really enough left of them to get an accurate thickness measurement.

the OEM numbers i posted were found in a scanned manual somewhere on the net, and that is where i found the cutting tip lengths. that's about all i have to go on.

Bailey's - 18-1/2" Mower Blade for Massey Ferguson/Snapper 54" Mowers

Universal Lawn Mower Blades

On the 2nd site I did see two 12 1/2" blades - one had larger center hole, but you probably could find a washer or shim to make it fit. ???

Good Luck !

You might ask customer service on any of the sites that handle mower blades.

Ive had the same problem with my chief also .I gave up looking for replacement blades long ago.
No one makes an exact fit So what Ive been doing is cutting down my used Scag blades with a plasma cutter then using the grinding wheel to get the edge back . cant see spending money for brand new blades that I would have to cut down to make make work , The scag blades have served their purpose and do a good job as replacements for the chief .
