Sorry for the dumb question. Is Fescue a type of grass as well or just a generic name? Are all the grasses you mentioned in there own family? Like Mondo would be one and then Fescue would be a type of Mondo grass as an example. It looks like Creeping Bentgrass to me based on the last photo. Thank you.For the record, if AI is involved in the conclusions about the grasses, it is wrong.

Sorry I am just so confused based on these apps you pointed out. It really looks like Creeping Bentgrass to based on the pictures.I have a combination tall fescue and bluegrass lawn. When the bermuda that comes in and the bent grass, like once every five to seven years, just kill it, water for a month, kill whatever comes up and then reseed before fall so it is up and rooted before the really cold weather. Sod is Ok on a small area but expensive on a large area. One caveat on sod is that most sod growers use a cocktail to kill off weeds. 2,4-D is one of those chemicals and it is a known carcinogen in some canine breeds. Since we have one of those breeds, we have to buy special untreated sod.
Getting a good pre-emergent down a couple times a year will help keep weeds and unwanted grasses down. The seeds come in on the wind. That reminds me it is time to do my lawn again before the winter POA starts to take off in a couple weeks.
Sorry guys was just overwhelmed and not sure where to go with this. I might just dig the areas up and put sod down at this point. Not using AI at all. Been working in the IT field for 27 years so I know how everyone feels about it including myself. I just used the Picture This app with all your guys advise.Fescue is a type of grass and there are many kinds. It is like saying that is a cow. What kind of cow? Red Fescue, Tall Fescue, Dwarf Fescue etc., and then many different varieties of each based on the plant genetics. You sure you are not AI?
