Identify This Type Of Grass

Hello,

I am having such a hard time identifying this certain grass in my yard. I have a Fescue blend in my yard, and it is consistent throughout my whole yard. This particular grass is only in a few spots on the left side of my yard. For the past 5 years I have had a horrible yard service in St. Louis tell me constant lies. I asked them if they knew what it was and first, I was told it is Bermuda and spent money on treatment for two years for it to come back the next year. I spoke to them again and was told it was Nimblewill and spend more money on a specialty chemical on top of the countless Ortho Nutsedge Killer. I have tried killing it with Tenacity, but it looked like it was dead last year, but came back this year. How would you guys apply it? I followed the instructions. So now let's just say I parted ways from them. So now I have new lawn care company, and the service tech said it could be Creeping Bent Grass. It is the light green grass I am referring to in the pictures. What do you guys think? Is it really Creeping Bent Grass? Any advice on this would be appreciated.

bent grass is my vote. I have found that roundup the area and reseed is the only thing that will work. In the meantime one can rip it out and slow it a little.

Awesome! Everything I have read states that Tenacity will kill it unless I am applying it incorrectly. Is the root system deep with Creeping Bent Grass?

There are many aps you can load on your cell phone. I use one called Picture This. Snap a picture of said weed or plant and it tells you ALL about it. Free ap on a Samsung phone. Works great to help me ID my weeds and such.

Make sure you ID it proper before firing harsh chemicals at it. Might be using the wrong herbicide.

I saw a video on Tenacity last night. It did not do well with a lot of weeds and grasses it should have. Good luck.

I used the Picture This app and it said it was St. Augustine Grass. I took three different pictures of the areas and it came back with that result. How do I treat it? Is it best to dig out?

Focus in tighter.

I got the same on a wider shot of your picture. Said it was St. Aug as you found.
