I just traded for a Craftsman YT4500. It is a 2012 model.
I have not been able to keep the drive belt on.
After inspection it looks like it has been broken then he tried to repair.
I am new at this and not sure what to call the parts that seem to bee broke.
It is the same way on both of the back wheels.
Any input, help or info would be great.
Thanks

Try and find an owners manual PDF on-line. You should be able to get that part at any SEARS parts outlet or on-line. Just replace it.

Does it look like to you that someone has tried to weld it back together?
Do you know the name of the part?
Sorry for the hassle and thanks for the help.

I pulled up a generic parts breakdown on the sears parts site. Your model may be slightly different if checked per exact model number. It looks like the flanges are part of the frame and are not replaceable as an individial part. I would say that the front transmission support bracket has come loose, allowing the tranny to rock in the frame, which broke the axle mount brackets. If the tranny is rocking in the frame it will cause repeated belt coming off problems.

That tractor should have a five year warranty on the frame. I do not know if the warranty transfers to the next owner or not. Would be worth checking into. That is supposed to be a fairly heavy duty yard tractor.

not sure if they will take it back if it has been welded tho it might have voided the warranty

If the guy sold it to you without telling you about this - as a like new mower with no problems, he would be getting his mower back if it were me. I've taken a couple things back that I've bought and it is important that you remember - your not asking him your telling him he is getting his mower back and you are getting your money - PERIOD. You go asking him and he will know you are a wuss.

Other option take it to a real fabricator and see what they can do - then take the guy to court to pay the bill to fix it - this option is a long shot to get the money though.

Sears mowers dont have 5 year warranty on frame. Warranty doesnt transfer either when ownership changes. Warranty becomes void once it leaves the hands of person who it bought it new. Sears has 2 year warranty on the equipment and 90 day battery warranty if it was bought new by the previous owner.
