hi everyone I just got a vintage john deere 140-H3 with a 14 Hp k321 engine that I have to spray with starter fluid in order to get it to start and once she warms up it starts easy until it cools I installed a new spark plug air & gas filter and I'm waiting for the points and condenser to arrive.. would the points and condenser remedy my starting problem..????
 
^ what rivets said. points+ condenser is not causing your problem.
have you made sure the choke is operating correctly?
 
that's what I forgot to mention that I also took apart the carb and cleaned it over even doe it didn't need cleaning apparently somone had done it before..?? but thanks for the motor link...johnny
 
my mistake when I said choke was closing all the way...took a better look and it isn't

just notice choke isn't closing all the way but gonna wait till tomorrow to tackle it,,,hopefully it will take care of the problem..will let you know tomorrow thanks johnny
