Hydro Gear Fluid Level

I have a hydro gear transmission, number 1713761, and I am trying to see if there is a way to check the fluid level of the unit. Anyone have any ideas?? Here’s a pic of the unit. It’s only a pic, the transmission is still installed on the mower.

Hydro Gear 322-0500. Capacity 77 oz of 20w50.

It should the same as the 310-0500 fluid level wise.

Check the oil level after fully purging the unit of air. It should be between 1.25" and 2.0" (31.75 - 50.8 mm) from the top of the housing for the 310-0500

Excellent, thank you for the response. One last question. After taking the cap off to visually inspect, would I have to purge the system of air? Like a brake system? Or just recap??
