Mine vents through the cap. The fluid level is about 1 1/2 inch below the cap

RDA, is this, above, in reference to the breather? I know the motor has one, but not sure how that could have anything to do with this hyd issue??

I'm not at all sure how you would know for sure that it vents through cap, or not? I suspect mine might, but could not prove that.

My reservoir has a two step metal "ladder" inside that is the fill to level point (lower step)

Take your cap off turn it upside down you can see the vent. It has a rubber diaphragm in it to allow air out but not in.there is a rubber gasket on the cap .below it is the actual hole for air to escape.I pulled mine to look and its full of dirt. So I'm guessing yours will be to. Take the cap and clean it with gas that should do the trick

Mine are different models but they have the same system as yours.
