It depends on what Ferris recommends or what brand of pump your mower has. Model number of the mower would help us narrow down the possible oils.

I believe it's a 2017 Ferris walk behind with a Hydro-Gear drive unit.(ZJ-GMFE-3B5B-1PLX).
Ferris 5901319. I've worked on a few of these Ferris machines, walk behinds and zeros, and it seems like they use different weight oils in them from model to model and year to year.
I never have the owner's/operator's manual to refer to for oil weights. thanks for the reply, gregjo1948

The drive unit should have a tag with the companies name and model number on it. If it is a hydro-gear then you would be safe using 20w50 motor oil.

That is the Hydro Gear ZT-3100 series and they call for 20w50 motor oil.

20-50 motor oil...we sell Schaeffers Racing 20-50 for all our Hydro-Gear sysytems. Hydro-Gear told me, even the older mowers that said they used 15-40, 15-30, and even some synthetic oil systems, they now recommend 20-50 motor oil for those also...Straight from Hydro-Gear!

I just bought a 2012 Procut S 61 with 272 hours on it. Have been going through it, needed grease deck adjustment, grass height adjustment, cleaning. Hydraulic oil is like yellow cake mix!!!! Need to change it!!. Seems from the replies, it is a pain in the keester. Any suggestions?
