Hustler XR-7 with Honda GXV670

My Hustler starts good when cold and runs good for about 10 minutes and then get real sluggish, smokes white smoke, then dies. Then it won't start again until the engine cools off. I've changed the spark plugs, oil and adjusted the valves. The fuel filter looks clean. Seems to be a fuel problem to me but I replaced the carburetor about a year ago. Can anyone help me what to look for next?
 
Sounds like you may have a head gasket blown. If you don't have a compression tester, borrow one and check to see if you have compression leaking by.
