Hustler x-one parking brake

Hustler x-one model #934174 sn starts with 1604.... The machine tracks straight, sticks are straight but on the slightest slope the brakes don't hold. I've looked in my owners manual with no answer there. In the trouble shooting section for my problem it says adjust brakes but doesn't show or explain how to. I see in the parts diagram there is an adjuster at the bottom center of the brake shoes, do I adjust that out slightly so the shoes will grab the drums tighter without them dragging? Thanks..

Yes they are just like regular vehicle brakes. On older vehicles this would be an automatic adjustment. And there is also a second way to adjust them per the service manual. Either way check the brake shoe linings for excessive wear and replace if needed.
