The engine instantly stops when I engage the electric clutch. I think a bearing must be frozen. Does anyone have a suggestion. The mower has not been used for two years but was covered with a tarp. The engine runs perfectly prior to engaging the mower blades switch.

Disconnect the clutch power cables at the plug under the mower
Start the engine & try turning on the blades.
If the engine instantly stops then the seat switch is faulty ( or wiring )

To check the clutch.
Remove spark plugs
Use some jumpers to energise the clutch.
Polarity is not important.
With the clutch energised try turning the blade belt by hand.
If all is good you should be able to do it and the engine should also turn ( which is why you took out the plugs.)
