Hey guys, great forum by the way. My Husqvarn 128LD weed wacker was not running right. I cleaned the carb, changed the filter, replace the tubing and plug. Still not running right. I bought a new carb and it is the same. It will start but I cannot get ti adjusted to run correctly. I have the low and high at one and 1/4 turns out as my staring point. What could the problem be?

What exactly is “not running right?” Need to be more specific. When you cleaned the OEM carburetor, did you completely take it apart and also replace the metering diaphragm?

I checked the exhaust and did relace the gaskets and diaphragms. After thinking about it for a few days the only thing that was different was the spark plug that came with the carb kit. I put the old spark plug back in and it started up just like new. No adjustments were needed. The new spark plug was not the same brand as the old one was and I took it for granted that it was also correct for my trimmer. Live and learn. Thanks, guys for the replies.

Don’t feel bad, same here. I actually bought a Champion RJC7Y, instead of the RJC8Y, because that’s what Google’s AI said was the correct plug. Ran into the same issues you did, and am hoping putting the right plug later today fixes it. The odd thing is that the plug that came with the new carb, (not Champion), ran fine for about 30 minutes. Until it didn’t.
