this zero turn mower came to me with both ignition coils not producing any spark. They were both bad. Its a kohler engine twin cylinder. That seems kind of odd changed them out with new ones. Installed a fully charged battery only to find its blowing fuses. Could this have caused the coils to fail?

Depending on why it is blowing fuses could cause a battery backfeed to the modules causing failure.
