I would not much lower on HP. Briggs does indicate they have a 27 hp carburated engine or you might can go with the 28 hp EFI engine but having the model and type numbers off the old would help.

Note: On some rocker cover they have been installed upside down during a valve adjustment.
Thank you for the help, valve covers had the visible number, I will post them now.

Got the rocker cover info today and here it is, this engine was ran with the choke on and likely washed the cylinder walls. Oil and plugs have been changed but still runs poorly. Model # is 49M777, type 512205, code 111011YG

Briggs shows the replacement as

49M8771046

It appears unavailable from most places, i couldn't find any superceded part numbers for it either, Star tech or someone else might can.

PD shows it superceding to 49S877-0008-G1 which is also showing out of stock 49T877-0004-G1 may be a viable engine option and is showing in stock at PD. 49E877-0005-G1 could be usable but will need a different muffler both due to EFI and also different engine series as the original so muffler won't transfer

It possible that your PD account is defaulting to a different warehouse. Back in October and November I had a fellow tech on another forum that the 793880 camshafts in the PD Mid West warehouse came in stock nearly a month before they made it to the Ohio warehouse. It took a while for us to figure this out too.

I suspect that PD is no longer doing the ship from other alternate warehouse feature that used to be shown with the sweeping arrow symbol in the order. So it now sounds like they are not giving us the option of shipping from alternate warehouses. I am positive I am defaulting to Iowa since all my orders are coming out of that warehouse., but use to be linked to the Ohio warehouse.

Well I don't go directly through PD anymore since they decide I wasn't buying enough from them; therefore, closed my direct account but my current distributor does. I still access them through my Power Portal account for inventory checking. I just couldn't see paying them at a 10% off retail when my distributor gives a 20% off retail on the same parts shipped from the same warehouse.

To some accountant it probably makes sense to sell the parts to another distributor at a lower cost than give me the 20% discount.
