Ok so I just bought a Husqvarna LR 100 used and it hasn't been ran in 10 years are so but it was winterized before it got put away. Everything is mint on it the motor looks like it's a year old or so but it needed a new battery so I got that changed the plug tried firing it up fo the first time in 10 or so years. Turns over fine didn't start so I took the bowl off the carb and it was pretty gross I cleaned it all out and sprayed the float and most of the parts inside the carb but I didn't take the whole carb off. But anyway tried firing it up again still didn't start then I sprayed some carb cleaner in the top of the carb where the airfilter goes and it started for a second then just died and it won't start at all and can't figure out why. Should I clean the air filter? Change oil? I'm not to sure I'm new to riding mowers so if anybody could help me that would be great thanks.

You are having a fuel problem... clean the carb...
Go to this site... Small Engine Equipment Troubleshooting, Repairs and Safety
scroll down till you find your carb and follow the directions...

And yes change the oil.. even if it was not used th oil is 10 years old... :smile:KennyV

Ok I'm going to try that. And would u happen to know how much oil I have to put in it says something about 8 ounces on the dipstick but I don know if that means how much to put it and it doesn't say in the manual. (it's a 10 hp Briggs and straton)

Those small B&S engines are usually just short of a quart... around 24 oz...

Drain it all and then add till you get to the full mark... it will be more than 1/2 quart... :smile:KennyV

Ok I changed the oil spark plug fuel filter cleaned the carb like 4 times Theres fresh gas in it no fuel lines are clogged and it still won't start if I pour some gas in the top of the carb it'll run for like 10 seconds then just die out I can't figure out what's wrong with it

You are still having a fuel delivery problem...

It has to be in the carb... did you find your specific carb and follow the disassembly procedure, in the link I posted? :smile:KennyV
