Husky z4824 zero turn jerky controls

I bought a husky z4824, the controls move VERY easy almost by them selves when pushed ahead . They are also very jerky if you try to slow it down to turn . It’s so unpredictable that I almost can never make a turn with out tearing the grass . It also doesn’t automatically return to neutral like the other zero turns I’ve run . I’ve adjusted the linkage so it doesn’t drift anymore . Is there suppose to be a sping to hold tension back . Seems to be a little play in the control arms that I’m having trouble tracking down . Any one have some ideas ?

Does the mower have dampeners on the control arms. If so they are probably bad. When they fail you loose resistance when moving the direction arms.

It actually does . I thought they were good because they aren’t leaking or anything . But do have very little resistance

If the replacements are a stupid price most smash repairers can sent them out for regassing, a common fix for hoods & hatch backs.

40 bucks a piece , so not terrible but more than I figured they would be
