Mower was running perfectly last weekend. Pulled it out yesterday to mow the lawn and it wouldn't start. After checking the usual suspects I decided to pull the cover off the head and that's when I found the bent rod
I don't know a lot about small engines and can't find much info online but I'm wondering if can I just replace the bent push rod, which looks pretty easy. Or is there more to it than just swapping out the pushrod? Does it require a complete engine teardown? At this point I don't know why it even bent.
Yes you can replace just the rod
And yes the crankcase has to be split to do it
So that will mean new seals & gaskets as well
Because of all of the Honda knock offs , Honda has dropped their parts prices
Not as cheap as B & S used to be but not really expensive like Kohler
Better figure out why the rod is bent first , they don't bend without a good reason , What ever caused it to bend is the main problem you're going to have to deal with
