HRX2172VKA need help

Just bought the floor model at my local Home depot. Unfortunately when I got it home it would not run correctly, basically it would start but just run on very slow idle almost ready to stall. I realized it is missing maybe a spring and a rod to be able to get the engine idling faster and able to operate correctly. Any chance I could get an owner to take a picture for me of the control assembly right by the fuel engage knob. Thank You

Looks like everthing is in place. Try this for me remove air filter element and see what happens. If you turn mower on its side oil will saturate a/f and it will not open up.Air filter will look fine so just try it and let me know. I am a Honda dealer I can send you a parts diagram if you need it

You are correct you are missing a spring. part number is 16561-Z0L-000. Can go to your local honda dealer to get it, or if you have time you can go back to HD and wait until they get one in.

The spring missing goes into the hole pictured on your second picture across to the right, it is the governor spring.
