How?

StarTech

Lawn Royalty
John Deere Z925A.

How in the heck did the customer break off the anti-rotation arm mount casting on the PTO clutch just by doubling the blade on a blade strike? And know it is not a badly worn engine deck anti-rotation arm mounting hole. I fixed that last year in thick heavy PTO washer.

And before someone say the nut came loose and it is a possible but it was install using Loctite and torqued to specs.

And BTW the drive belt is off the RH transaxle pulley.

I offered his uncle a rope.....Boy does the nephew tears up this mower a lot and doesn't want to pay for the repairs.

I think that you have your answer. The nut is the one operating the levers. No consequences for ragging out an expensive machine. A person who pays for a mower and the repairs is going to take better care of it.

I have a policy when fixing things. If people have money, they pay for the work full shop rate. It they break it, they fix it. If they can't afford a repair, I might cut someone a break if I sense they take care of things. But if they are hard on things and are broke, that sounds like a learning moment to me. Do let someone else's known carelessness become your crisis. If these people break things and don't like to pay, let them go elsewhere. How many other mowers could you have fixed and billed out on while you were stuck on their self-inflicted damaged mower?

People break things, especially on mowers, especially on mower decks. Some people (not many) are really hard on equipment. As long as they pay (they always do), I will keep repairing the equipment.
