I ordered a new cylinder wall an piston for my stihl chainsaw an I want to know how to time it once my kit gets here???

ok so just when install the new kit just put it at top dead center an put the fly wheel on??

Also installing the rings what is the best way???

Coil air gap will also affect timing

What model Stihl chainsaw are you working with? Is it the "0" or "MS" series? Did ya remove the crankshaft? I know on the "0" series Stihl chainsaws if the crank was removed you have to align the crank with special tool when reinstalling the crankshaft to flywheel side casing.

ms 180c an i plan to take the crank shaft an install a new piston an ring set

A 180c? I'd not bother going thru all hat crap for a $200 saw, I would get a new one. Anyway one the flywheel is back on and foil gapped the time is done.

I only payed 30$ for the kit an it is worth it to have another saw stay in my fleet besides my new ms 171:thumbsup::thumbsup:
