How to take out tough grass

I have about 2 acres that I need cleared of tough grass that's about waist high on a 5ft person. Will my Honda riding mower do the job? I tried the Honda push mower but I had to keep stopping to keep it going.

I think what you're describing would be too much for any riding mower including my commercial zero turn.
I would try to find someone with a tractor and bush hog to mow it and then keep mowing it with your riding mower after that.
