Hi
Just took apart my mower motor it looks new just have to take valves out of it..
Only has 20 PSI compression, maybe head gasket will get new one and broke
a head stud will drill out and put a new one in....
How do you pull out the valves?
PS it is 15 years old and is it worth rebuilding?

Cheers Alan

All depends.
The repair will usually cost less than than a new one, your time excluded.
The old mower will not be worth the price of the new parts when installed and working properly.
The newer moweres may or may not have features that you find desirable or a PIA.

So it is sort of a piece of string argument.
Howeve the first thing to do is to pull i down to see what is wrong.
Worn rings, blown gaskets, burned valaves are all cheap & easy fixes.
Worn bore is very expensive but you will never know till you pull it down.
You can do a series of tests like wet & dry compression, use a shhet of white paper to determine if it smokes under load or on the over run but these are only rough guides that repair shops do to get a rough idea of what it is most likely to be
