Hi,
I am currently cleaning and replacing some parts on my mower and want to change the steering gear and bearing however the bolt on the end of the shaft which needs to be removed to change the gear will not come off. It has been packed with grease all it's life so I can't imagine it's rusty inside. I tried my impact wrench on it and it still didn't move so I stopped and came here for advice before I do some damage.
I hope someone can help me with this.
Kind Regards.

Seeing you are going to change the bearing I would say use some heat. You say you are using a impact wrench. Just what are you using for a impact wrench and how are you holding the gear as you are trying to remove the nut with the impact wrench?
