I'm trying to attach a garden cart I have to my Craftsman LT1000 lawn tractor; there must be a way, and I cannot Google anything because I don't know what it might be called. I have a Harbor Freight garden cartHarbor Freight Garden Cart.jpgwhich has a handle 1.5 inches span but the holes for the handle are horizontal.

My LT1000 lawn tractor has a 5/8 inch vertical hole for attaching stuff like a 5/8 inch hitch pin on its rear plate, like at the point of the "triangle".

So is there an adapter to do this that I can just purchase? Or do I need to get 1.5 inch square tubing and drill appropriate holes to make my own adapter? Thanks, and I'm open to all ideas.

I sometimes use a wagon like that behind my mower. I use a carbiner clip thur the hole on mower to wagon handle.

Thanks, I'll figure out something. I'll likely use like the a couple of times a year at most.

A piece of perforated 1.5 inch square tubing like 2 feet long looks promising as a temporary substitute for the lawn tractor handle

Can you attach a HF tow hook like this to your mower?

Bailing wire, duck tape, 3n1oil and zip ties. These items will fix anything. Don't forget JB Weld.

Far as the Biden reference, you must of voted for our current president.

I acquired a Gorilla cart (very similar) and it had a handle like yours. I was able to buy a replacement handle that worked as a walk or tow for around $35. It's the best of both worlds! Can't find a link to it but I do I will update the post.

I don't know what to say. The average guy around here would have just used a carbiner clip the right size with a piece or rope or small chain.

OK, here's my current solution. I drilled a hole, attached a 5/16" eyebolt to the handle; I peened the inner surface of the handle in, and replaced its padding with some new pipe insulation, so I can still pull the wagon manually without the end nut digging into my hand.

Then I circumcised the bolt head for the upright mount on the lawn tractor so the eyebolt could slip over.
