How often do you replace your hedge trimmer blades?

Just want an idea of how often I will need to replace mine. Do they usually last as long as the hedge trimmer? If not, how long should I expect them to last?

I have two sets of Stihl trimmers. We have carried them to a guy who sharpened them a couple of times. I honestly do not know how much better that they cut but it did seem to help some. One both sets were bought in 2013. I am strongly considering either replacing the blades on both or either selling them and buying two new sets.

How long is a piece of string ?
keep them clean, particulary knock off the sap & gum that accumulates on them .
Sharpen every 50 hours and keep lubricated and they will get passed on to your grandchildren.

I'll do that. Thanks for the advice!

Better mower shops will carry a blade cleaner and a non stick lube for the blades.

I'll look into that. Thanks!
