Well last night I picked up a customers John Deere Rider and a old Montgomery Wards self propel as well as a customers Yard Man self propel, I worked on 2 of the Honda engine mowers, the Craftsman is fixed but needs a new blade (i will get today) the MTD pro runs but has a air leak somewhere (full throttle and sounds like it is going to blow up when it starts). that is all for now.

I agree and yes it started as a hobby interest for me but, soon turned into a little side jobs for me. I really enjoy working on push mower though, i tackle it all but, chain saws: moody creatures. But, to me there is nothing like bringing back the dead and forgotten little mowers who only need a little TLC. We need to remeber that the machines are beast of in- perfections and, were made to trim, cut, blow or mow. With each and every one we work on maybevatvtimes its something different but, forvthe most part its operater error and, neglect to these machines we love or, we wouldnt be talking about them. Also, if anyone has any ideas on 14 sb/jd john deere walk-behind 5.5 hp kawasaki tranny problems which im having on one of my babies, feel free to drop me a line. Good evening :biggrin:mlf! Max08

Hello all, worked on a John Deere LT166, needs both deck drive belt and timing blade belt and a good cleaning and lube. also rebuilt an old Tecumseh and a Briggs. They are ready for sale. check out the YTH150 Husqvarna and the deck is rotted beyond repair but the engine is good and tranny is good. I currently have 7 mowers for sale, hope to have a good weekend,

Hello all. the John Deere LT166 is finished and ready to mow, i finally took pictures of the two Hondas and i took a picture of the rotten Husqvarna deck as well. The JD had the old deck design for the Freedom deck which takes a smaller timing belt also.mower8 001.jpgmower8 003.jpgmower8 007.jpgDistrict 2-20120417-00002.jpgDistrict 2-20120417-00004.jpg

I started out as a kid back in the '80's working at a Deere dealer in the lawn & garden repair shop. Always had a natural ability to fix things. Since then it was always a "hobby" helping neighbors and friends with their equipment issues while I maintained a full time job. A little over a year ago my wife lost her corporate job and has yet to find a suitable replacement job. She is doing some business tax consulting from home which pays the bills but we aren't saving any funds. So I decided rather than to take on a second job elsewhere, I'd work in my own garage fixing mowers and such. What started out slowly last summer has gained serious momentum this spring. I want to go another year and see if things keep pace as this may replace my regular job and save me driving to work.
