How hot does a small engine get?

It seems that when the shop was repairing the head on my Kawasaki fh531v that they might not have gotten one of the studs tight (or stripped it) that holds the shroud and fan guard. It is now viberating and won't tighten up, it looks to have cracked the shroud, but that could be from before and I hadn't noticed it because it is behind the seat.

Will high temp thread locker hold this where it threads into the engine block? Loctite makes some the is good to 650 degrees.

I have never had much luck with loctite making a stripped thread whole again.

Possum is right on this, you will have better luck with a thread insart something liks a heli-coil.

Took the stud out and fixed the crack in the shroud, the stud didn't look stripped. I screwed it in slowly and it seemed to tighten up, maybe when I put it all back together tomorrow it will all be good.

You are all set to use the thread locker then. I would use the blue medium straight which I have used on small engines and the heat wasn't too high.
