How Do You Guys Override The Deadman "Switch"?

The pros are smart enough to know it is a safety switch and don’t provide info on how to bypass them. They are there for a reason. Only the lazy DIY guys feel they are smart enough to bypass them and not get hurt. You can do what you want and I’m sure that someone will say “bla, bla, bla, just do this. Remember that if you ever need to have it serviced by a professional, they will return all overridden safety system to factor specs at your expense. Read my signature.
As you said, I can do what I want. I will do what works for me. I still have all my toes and feet after 71 years. In fact when I was a teen cutting lawns in the neighborhood, we didn't have any malarkey safety stuff. Just an engine, wheels, and a handle to push, right? I like doing my own maintenance, just so the servicing "professional" can't return it to factory specs. I like it that way. I appreciate your concern for my safety. In fact, next time it snows, swing by my house and do some shoveling. That way I can save myself some back pains.

I removed the handle and the spring mounted to engine which has the ignition kill wire on it. I then pulled off the cable that attaches everything. So to shut down mower when done, I just turn off fuel valve and let unit die. Got tired of restarting mower when cable tie slipped down.

Ah! the power of free will hard at work and I have not even had my first beer today. LOL
Lazy me uses one zip tie around the bar. Keeps her running while bagging. Slide the tie off and she goes to sleepy town. Oh plus you don't have to hold that stupid lever down all the time. Some mowers have 2 levers to hold down. Makes my hand cramp. So uncomfy.
Officially I never circumvent safeties. They are installed for a reason. Leave yours alone.

Same here--one zip tie fastened loosely enough that I can slide it up to hold the bail in place (hands-free) or slide it down and let the music stop. Works for all of my (four) DuraForce Lawn Boys (my old ones did not have that foolishness and I still have all my fingers and toes a week shy of my 69th b-day....also been riding motorcycles my whole life).
